There are ample rainbow and boat fishing lochs in the area open 7 days.  Lochter, a local favourite, also has activities such as off-road driving and target shooting. 

River fishing is available on the Ythan from Feb-October.

Two miles from Methlick is Kingscliff Sporting Lodge whose main attractions are clay pigeon shooting, quad biking, archery and many more.

Aberdeenshire has a wealth of golf courses for the golf enthusiast, the nearest only 6 miles away and there is a further 6 courses, including the famous Cruden Bay, within a half hour drive.

Six miles away, is the town of Ellon with excellent indoor and outdoor sports facilities.   

In winter, there’s easy access to the Cairngorms and Lecht ski centres
